For those of you who are interested in becoming a member to support the animations and the art, allow me to walk you through the perks of each tier:

I Can't Watch this for Free

  • Your name in the end credits of videos:
If you're here to support the animated skits I make, then you are likely aware of the end credits roll I do for every skit. The username you used to sign up as a member will be added there, or you can message me on this platform to let me know if you would like a nickname/alias to be used instead
  • BTS photos, posts, and polls:
BTS = Behind the Scenes; there has been a rising trend in art society to share about one's process when making anything. I'm of the opinion that we are now oversaturated in process content, and that has made people uninterested. So I will keep most of that stuff over here and only post BTS stuff on my social media accounts when I feel there's something worth sharing publicly.
    As for the polls?
Well...members shall inevitably determine the fate of certain things in the Irregular Whatnot series. Whether those fates have a lasting impact on the story? Who can say... (*flashes of lightning, evil laughter, heavy rain)
  • Sneak peeks at future episodes and merch:
I want to make stories that people actually delight in, so I won't be spoiling things with the sneak peeks. Typically, I start working on the script a month or so before you ever see the finished product. So yeah.
Merchandise-wise, receiving input from my community on whether a design looks good or hearing your demands concerning which character(s) deserve merch is a good thing. That said, I refuse to infringe on copyright commercially, so don't expect pokemon designs to be commercially sold here (unless I get a collab with a certain company...)

Steak Holder

  • In addition to the above...
  • Name in credits (bigger, bolder):
"Heh, yeah, that's right, I'm more important than the other guys." The classism is a joke, so insofar as people find it funny and it is received in a good natured way, I'll keep it in.
In all honesty, I believe in being impartial to both the rich and the poor, but I also enjoy the silliness of making a big spender look like a famous actor, or the lead of a production team, or regional manager lol
  • Merch discounts:
I do my best to keep my prices close to regular pricing from other brands. I'm not trying to be some rich clothing brand selling cotton clothing for $200. If I ever reach a point where I partner with a manufacturer to make truly custom clothing cuts, then the price will reflect that, but for now I will keep prices as low as possible while making at least $1 in profit.
The discounts come into play for my steak holders and above members. Their contributions will likely cover any losses I see given how close I keep the profit margins to the actual clothing costs.

Patronus Prime

  • In addition to the above...
  • Your own credits page on videos:
The joke is to make the end credits roll look like movie film credits. I may ask anyone who subscribes at this level if they would like a render of their profile picture or some sort of "branding" to be here as well. Imagine how funny it would be for a sponsor to scroll by, "special thanks to our sponsor 'Adios technologies' (*fake adidas branding here)"?
That's what I'm hoping for from my community.
  • 1 Free Pokemon Commission at End of Year:
I'm no fan of copyright infringement, so I'd rather give out private commissions at no cost to members at this level. Private commissions can be of any characters since they are for personal use, not public or commercial use.
Those of you who subscribe at this level can confidentially choose to include your address--that's right, I plan to send these commissions to your door! Cause this platform let's me do that! So if you want an Emolga on a mug for example, I can do that.
Important! This will only be done after a year of subscription at this level. Making and sending real things takes time and money, so for those who only want a digital copy, it'll be truly free. For those who want an emolga on a mug for example, your subscription will cover the cost on top of supporting the work.

That covers everything I think! Thank you for reading this through--let me know in the comments if you have any questions!

Good tidings,

Allow me to be frank (the adjective):

Putting a price tag on art is the antithesis of connection.

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling a cortisol spike when finances are brought up. And yet I must live, eat, & pay taxes.

My mission, therefore, is two-fold:

  1. Silly pixel art skits for the people to enjoy
  2. Ridiculous excellence in one-off art pieces, most likely Victorian era style art

Pairing these two together is extremely funny and satisfying for me—the passion is there. So the money will trail behind these two like a merchant escorted by adventurers from another world.

I'll continue to refine my work and my product catalogue to offer merch for #1, and high quality prints for #2 in limited quantities.

To those of you who see the potential and find satisfaction investing in it, I am honored by your trust and will setup a membership program on top of the donation section I have here already.

Concerning commissions:

Some of you might be aware that I have done commissions for individuals and businesses before.

I will likely do away with offering commissions as a public option. A key difference between an artist and an illustrator is that the former creates to express themselves and the latter creates to satisfy the requirements of a client.

The transactional nature of being an illustrator really grinds my gears, so I only want to offer such a "service" to people I know and trust.

Ultimately, I want y'all to enjoy what I make without feeling the weight of price tags.

When I spend money, I prefer to do so from a place of cheerfulness—I want to be pleased to have spent it. So I hope to encourage you as well and I hope to receive money only when you are pleased to spend it!

TL;DR:

  • Pixel art skit stuff gets more merch 🙂‍↕️
  • Expect to see more art prints on here that looks like they came from a museum 🖼️
  • Public commissions dropped 📉
  • Membership program under construction 🏗️

Thanks for reading!

What makes art and storytelling important? Why would people--and why should people--even consider supporting those who spend their time making things and telling tall tales?

These are questions people immediately stop asking when someone lightly critiques their favorite Blackpink song, Into the Spiderverse, The Lord of the Rings, Dark Souls II, Dr. Seuss book... you get the picture. Shockingly, it seems humans are capable of making things people enjoy.

I'm the Ooji, and the reason my creative work exists is because one question rings in my mind:

What song does your life sing in the ears of others?

Wow, what a romantic, idealistic, head-in-the-clouds thing to say. My bad. I fear the smooth jazz playing on my speakers is influencing me.

But the question still stands when phrased in other ways:

  • what am I doing with my life?
  • this isn't the life I wanted
  • be the change you want to see in the world
  • that wasn't very cash-money of you

For some, they find peace in farming, others enjoy the bustle of the financial district, and still others wake up early to record the results of lab experiments running in some undisclosed facility (you didn't hear this from me).

Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

It's an ancient proverb (Ephesians 4:28), but it checks out

For me, I find the honest work I wish to labor on the most is the work of telling stories well. For when a story is well told, people listen. People seek. People find. And people learn to understand one another.

That is what I find crazy about storytelling:

It is the art of understanding each other.

Thanks for reading! Next time I'll post something more down to earth. Had to hit you with the "10,000 mile high view" before "getting into the weeds", as some say
